The "Lost Wallet Designs" - Inventions are NOT lightbulbs!

The "Lost Wallet Designs" - Inventions are NOT lightbulbs!

For the next several weeks I'm revealing my design process and evolution up to the new wallet design that's scheduled to be released in December.

There is a long and deliberate process of bringing an idea to life that will reveal itself over the next weeks on the BE MIGHTY Network.

I really hope that fans of the Mighty Wallet will join me because this is a unique insight into the realm of the creative process as an inventor / designer and much of this work is NEVER seen in the public.

We only end up with glossy picture perfect products that channel a brand identity through graphics, designs and colors to make an ultimate value proposition - "Will you buy this wallet?".

That exchange takes only an instant to register and it's success or failure will be decided by thousands of consumers making that decision in a split second.

But the real path to that moment is part of the "Creative Process" that is a shedding of the irrelevant, a refining of material and crafting the concept over and over to get it "Just Right".

These are some pics and videos of that early stage of the design process where I was still searching for a new wallet design that checked off a lot of the boxes that I wanted.

I wanted to share these early stages of the design process with you because most people probably don't realize that for every product I bring to fruition there are a ton that are just for the scrap heap.

They are lost designs because they are never actually seen but they are also very important stages in learning what does and doesn't work.

Seeing these will really inform you in the evolution of the new wallet. There are still seats in the focus group if you'd like to join the final stages of the design process. (apply at the end of this post)

There are so many unique factors to consider when creating "Origami Tyvek® Wallets" because of the folds I have to be keenly aware of the thickness of the fold but also make sure no fold is unlikely to hold.

This is where the paper prototypes help but they are still not the same as Tyvek®.

When I created the Mighty Wallet I had tons of different folded paper ideas on my desk and still could not figure out if it was actually going to work because I didn't have any Tyvek and I didn't have any idea where I could get the product produced.

Traditional Leather Wallet manufacturers were out of the question so I ended up using an express mail manufacturer because I told them essentially its the same as what you already produce, printed on one side, die-cut and folded.

I'll be sharing the inside story of bringing this new wallet to life with a select group of fans on the BE MIGHTY Network.

You can apply to be considered for the Focus Group with exclusive limited access to the final design here: https://forms.gle/H297Wo91jxGEhhX58
